ReUse Action is a supplier of reclaimed foam insulation. We often have XPS (extruded polystyrene, pink or blue boards) or Polyiso Board available, depending on your needs. We can sell material by the sheet or by the semi-trailer load. If you have a large project or want to super-insulate your attic, garage, or house, give us a call and we can discuss the best material and price to meet your needs.
Please note: We generally have a bunch of this material on hand, and we can quickly get more for you. Just give us a call and we’ll work it out for you.
Check it out! I took some wood from ReUse Action’s indoor lumber yard, processed it at the Rusted Grain woodshop, and am making a cabinet for a client. The wood comes from the demolition project ReUse Action’s Green Demo Team conducted in South Buffalo in September. Flush doors with tongue and groove paneling and a very simple face frame and body structure. They will be using their new cabinet in their dining room to put extra plates and table settings when not in use. Check out the progress so far…panels glued, table top made, face frame complete…it just needs to be put all together and finished!
If you have a cabinet project in mind, please contact Megan at 716.220.8842 or email info {at} rustedgrain(.)com.
If you want to buy salvaged lumber from ReUse Action’s indoor lumberyard, contact Michael at michael {at} reuseaction(.)com or call 716.949.0900.
Intrepid salvage spotter Mary Fisher, of Environmental Education Associates, gave us the lead on these fine oak pews from an Austin Street church:
Curved Oak Pews

We’ll be selling these at $50 a running foot. We have eight and ten foot sections – some of these combine to make longer pieces.
Mary is the ReUse Explorer of the Month! For her sharp eyes and quick response, she gets our gratitude and a $25 gift certificate from one of our favorite restaurants, Merge.
Update: Here are the doors, installed.
Doors Installeed

We made these new doors from old materials. The pine tongue and groove was harvested from a barn in Lockport, New York this Fall, milled and reconstructed at the
Rusted Grain woodshop into this pair of doors we just installed on a garage on Trinity Place in Buffalo.
ReUse Action and Rusted Grain can manufacture a variety of projects from reclaimed materials. These doors look great on the garage, but also would accent a room in a loft apartment or hous hold when installed as a sliding door (surface mounted). You’d have a attention grabber that would accent a room when it’s both opened and closed.
Costs vary depending on size and style, interior or exterior applications, and level of finish.
Various old rolling doors from an 1880s barn in Lockport, New York. These are pine, tongue and groove. Sizes (width x height, within 1/2 inch): 54×81, 38×90, 33×86, 36×91, 39×83, 32×50 (2). Most have rollers and are meant to be installed with a wooden site-built rail (which we can build for you); one is for a metal rail, included.
The old look, natural wear and tear and authentic hardware can’t be duplicated with modern materials.
Prices: $250 to $400 each; two smallest doors $50 each.
